Baby Friendly Clinic
MJP developed a comprehensive initial assessment tool for the health centre team to better assess the health, social and family issues of children. Specifically, the health team trained the local health centre and health post staff to run the Baby Friendly Community Initiative (BFCI). Since March 2010, 60 children have been assessed; 64.99% were underweight, of which 20 received treatment e.g. worming tablets, iron, vitamin A. 10 out of 21 families were referred to MJP’s agriculture team to join their food security programme targeting widows and vulnerable families.
