Bueng Run Health Centre was built by MJP to provide healthcare services for over 5000 villagers in Samlout commune. It opened its doors in early October 2009 and has seen 9,107 cases. The clinic has already replaced the district’s central health centre as the most visited clinic in the region.

On December 7, 2010, Bueng Run Health Centre was officially opened on 7th December 2010 by His Excellency Dr. Mom Bunheng, Cambodia’s Minister of Health, H.E Prach Chan, the Battambang provincial governor and Stephan Bognar, CEO of MJP. More than 600 participants, including villagers, government officials and school children attended the ceremony.

H.E Dr. Mom Bunheng and H.E Prach Chan thanked MJP’s team, under Ms Angelina Jolie and Stephan Bognar’s leadership, for its generosity and commitment to serve the needs of Samlout villagers and the surrounding area. MJP’s work in conservation and promotion of environmental awareness was also acknowledged.

H.E Dr. Mom Bunheng and H.E Prach Chan encouraged MJP to continue working on its projects towards achieving the Cambodian Millennium Development Goals. They pledged their support and called for assistance from local authorities and other relevant sectors to help MJP as required.
