The children and youth of Samlout participated in MJP's third annual Play Day event, which was introduced in 2010 by Canadian interns from York University. Go Canada! Play Days are special days for children and youth to themselves through the language of play. They inspire cooperation among children and youth, help strengthen community spirit and encourage healthy minds and healthy bodies. Most Play Days take place at MJP partner primary schools in rural villages. This year, however, a Play Day was launched with teenagers at one lower secondary school.
It was wonderful to see the children actively participate and exhibit good sportsmanship, teamwork, confidence and cooperation skills. Laughter, smiles and tons of cheering were the key requirements to join the day.
